Tippmann X7 Phenom: The Future of Tippmann Sports?

Tippmann built a name on simplicity, durability and overall reliability by staying loyal to their internal powertube and front and rear bolt design. Subtle changes have occurred to the internals of the Tippmann line of paintball guns over the years. 'Subtle' ended today as Tippmann now offers woodsball enthusiasts the Tippmann X7 Phenom.
The Tippmann X7 Phenom is a far departure from what we’ve come to expect from Tippmann over the years. First and foremost, the Phenom is an electro pneumatic gun capable of running on a mere 300 psi. This runs the new FlexValve Technology that incorporates a blow forward bolt design. A forward moving bolt means next to no kick. The air delivery system is a page out of the Invert Mini book which means no external airlines. Internal air system really adds to the realism and the overall reliability of the marker. Tippmann also redesigned the cyclone feed paddle system making it 20 bps straight out of the box with no internal upgrades. The X7 Phenom is slightly more compact than the original X7 measuring about 3” shorter in length than its predecessor. The trigger functions via hall effect electronics featuring 5 built-in firing modes with an external selector switch. Don’t have a battery? No problem… you can run the X7 Phenom in electronic mode using battery support or in basic semi-auto with no battery in the gun! An electronic paintball gun that can function on 'no battery' or even a dead one installed… now that’s a step in the right direction!
